Five Columbia College student-athletes were recognized by the American Midwest Conference Monday. Cameron VanLeer has been named Golfer of the Week, Kate Marshall was named as the Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Kelsey Mirts of Columbia was named the Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Ryan Harrisskitt, was named the Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and Brianna Haller was named the Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Central Methodist receiver Katavious Taylor was the Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Taylor had eight receptions for 214 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles 36-14 victory over Peru State. Also from CMU, Anika Kallash is the Heart Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week and Fabio Tarnowski is the Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Missouri Valley men’s soccer forward Matteo Ruggieri has earned the Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Vikings 3-1 over Graceland University Saturday. Ruggieri tallied two goals and an assist in the victory as the Vikings improved to 7-3 on the season and 2-3 on the conference. For the season Ruggieri has three goals and two assists for the Vikings.
