November 6, 2019 8:30AM CST
During the St. Louis Cardinals end of season press conference Tuesday, chairman Bill DeWitt announced the contract extensions of President of Baseball Operations John Mozeliak, manager Mike Shildt, and general manager Michael Girsch. The management trio guided the Cardinals to a NL Central title, and a National League Championship series appearance this past season. Their contracts will expire in 2022.
In looking forward to 2020, Mozeliak says they’re starting to develop their offseason plan.
The president of baseball operations said they are working towards getting an extension for pitcher Adam Wainwright, and as of now, the plan is to bring third baseman Matt Carpenter back.
Mozeliak also said all the coaches from this year’s staff will return in 2020. The general managers meetings begin next week.
