CAFNR To Introduce Mobile Meat Processing Next Spring

Efforts to increase meat processing in Missouri will hit the road next year.  The University of Missouri’s College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources has acquired two vehicles that will travel the state, showcasing meat processing techniques as well as selling locally sourced meats.  Ty Peckman is with the school’s Division of Animal Sciences and will be in charge of the vehicles.

Peckman says the other vehicle will serve as a storefront.

MU Division of Animal Sciences Instructor Ty Peckman adds that the university will receive the units in the spring, with the aim to have them traveling the state later in the year.  The two mobile meat processor trailers were acquired using grants from the Missouri Department of Agriculture, made available through federal CARES funds.
