Bulldogs Escape Illinois-Springfield With a Win

Illinois-Springfield was one free throw away from upsetting 6th ranked Truman. Thursday night at UIS, Keymonta Johnson missed a pair of free throws with one second left and the game tied at 57. With new life, Truman outscored the Prairie Stars 15-6 in overtime for a 72-63 win….

Cade McKnight hit all 12 of his free throws and finished with a game-high 25 points to lead the Bulldogs to their 8th straight victory. Turner Scott scored 17, Dylan Peeters added 15 and Elijah Hazekamp grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds and chipped in 13 points. Coach Jeff Horner knew his team escaped….

It was Horner’s 50th win in his third season. The Bulldogs improve to 13-1 heading to Quincy on Saturday. We will have the broadcast on KRES.

The Prairie Stars drop to 7-9. Freshman post Jack Weber scored 20 points and collected 12 rebounds. Will Rucker of Moberly played 10 minutes, had a bucket and grabbed three rebounds.
