Cairo is in 7th place after round one of the MSHSAA Class 1 Girls State Golf Tournament at the Country Club of Columbia. The Lady Bearcats score of 488 is just one stroke out of a tie for 5th and just five strokes away from a 4th place trophy slot. Avery Martin is tied for 34th (117), Macie Harman is tied for 38th (118), Journey Sander is tied for 52nd (123), and Kennedy Kearns is tied for 68th (130).

The top area golfer in Class 1 after round one is Abbie Koenen of Putnam County, whose round of 106 is tied for 6th. Also in All-State medal contention are Kady Couch of La Plata, whose tied for 10th (107), and Macie Parks of Glasgow, whose tied for 21st (112).

Boonville is tied for 3rd place after round one of the Class 2 Girls State Golf Tournament at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar. Kirksville is in 7th place. The Osage team that won the district tournament at Heritage Hills in Moberly is running away with the tournament leading by 25 strokes. The Lady Pirates are tied with Incarnate Word, just six strokes behind second place St. Michael the Archangel. Boonville is led by Zoey Lang, who is tied for 14th (91) and Hannah LeGrant, who is tied for 19th (94). Payten Black and Leah Ziegelbein are tied for 27th (98). Carlie Daniel is in 79th place (128). A couple NCMC golfers are in All-State medal contention. Kirksville’s Addison Davis is in 9th place (86) and Fulton’s Grace Ousley is 13th (90).

Father Tolton is in 4th place after round one of the Class 3 Girls State Golf Tournament at the Columbia Country Club. The Lady Blazers are five strokes behind third place St. Dominic. Audrey Rischer fired a first round 77, which is just two strokes off the lead. Katherine Ryan is in 18th place with a round of 90. Katelyn Ankenman is 62nd (102), Catherine Fallis is tied for 65th (103), and Savanna Hazelrigg is 78th (109).

At the Class 4 state tournament in Joplin, Rock Bridge golfer Tierney Baumstark is in 6th place with a first round 79.

The MSHSAA Girls State Golf Championships will wrap up with the final round today (Tues).
