Boone County Rivals Faceoff in District Semifinal

The rubber match between Centralia and Hallsville Thursday night will decide who advances to the Class 4 District 8 Championship game. Two-seed Hallsville had a bye through the first round of the tournament while third-seed Centralia snuck past sixth-seed Macon 47-46. Centralia coach Scott Humphrey says they’ll need to clean some things up from that game.

The Panthers also struggled at the free throw line going 14-28. They split the two previous meetings with the Indians. Humphrey says dictating tempo will be a big key in this game.

The Indians average 67.7 points per game. Humphrey says his defense will have to keep track of several different weapons.

Pregame coverage of Centralia and Hallsville will begin at 7:15 on KTCM 97.3 and centralmoinfo.com Colin Schowe will have the call. The winner will face either Mexico or Kirksville in Saturday’s district championship game.
