Boone County Officials Investigate Shooting

Boone County officials are continuing to investigate a shooting that was reported Thursday night. About 7:50, Boone County Deputies responded to the 3400 block of South Route O near Huntsdale regarding a disturbance with weapons. Deputies found a 52-year-old man suffering from two gunshot wounds. Deputies provided aid to the subject who was then transported to a local hospital. Two other people, a man and woman, were taken to the Sheriff’s Department for further investigation. The injured man, known by the residents of the home, arrived at the Route O residence intoxicated. After a period of time, the man allegedly started a physical altercation with the male resident, and later the female resident. The male resident obtained a pistol and ordered the subject to stop assaulting the female or he would be shot. The male subject persisted in his assault and was shot. The male and female of the home have been released and the investigation is on-going.
