Big Second Half Run Carries Harrisburg Past Glasgow

The Harrisburg Lady Bulldogs outscored the Glasgow Lady Jackets 32-14 in the second half on their way to a 47-32 win in a Class 2 District 7 Semifinal. Harrisburg’s second half run actually started at the end of the second quarter courtesy of Olivia Fischer.

Colin Schowe with the call on 99.9 The Captain and centralmoinfo.com. Harrisburg would use the momentum from that basket to go on a 29-6 run over the course of much of the second half and roll to the victory. Baylie Combs took over in the second half.

Combs scored 19 of her game-high 26 points in the second half. Harrisburg coach Ryan Richardson said halftime came at the right time for his team.

Glasgow led for most of the first half thanks in large part to the offensive performances of Malia Carmack and Brenna Hubbard. However, both players were held to two points apiece in the second half. Glasgow coach Molly Monnig said her team struggled to get anything going offensively in the second half.

Carmack led the Lady Jackets with twelve points. Glasgow finishes the season at 14-9. Harrisburg improves to 12-15 and advances to the district title game at 6:00 Friday night against Salisbury.
