August/September 2022 Freeman Insurance Players of the Game

9/30 Brookfield at Macon football: Macon senior quarterback Mykel Linear racked up 264 yards of total offense and three touchdowns as the Tigers won on homecoming 53-20.

9/30 Scotland County at Westran football: Westran junior running back Nate Kribbs had nine carries for 154 yards and three touchdowns as Westran defeated Scotland County 38-0.

9/30 Marshall at Moberly football: Marshall junior quarterback Jaxson Case accounted for 166 passing yards and two touchdowns and added 71 rushing yards as Marshall defeated the Spartans 17-7.

9/27 Moberly at Cairo softball: Moberly junior pitcher Taylor Martin went seven innings allowing one run on two hits while striking out five Cairo hitters in a 7-1 victory.

9/27 Salisbury at Westran softball: Salisbury sophomore Camri Wekenborg went 3-4 with two singles, a double, a run scored, and three runs scored to help lead the Lady Panthers to a 14-4 win over Westran.

9/24 Greenfield at Brunswick-Keytesville-Northwestern football: BKN senior receiver Hayden Harms hauled in four catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort as Greenfield defeated the Thunder 52-20.

9/23 Monroe City at Centralia football: Monroe City senior running back Ceaton Pennewell had 29 carries for 121 yards and all four Monroe City touchdowns as they defeated Centralia 28-7.

9/23 Moberly at Fulton football: Moberly junior running back Gage St. Clair averaged ten yards a carry as he ran the ball 16 times for 160 yards to help boost the Spartans to a 28-14 win over Fulton.

9/23 Fayette at Marceline football: Marceline senior Cayden Davis threw for 50 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 38 yards and catching a pass for 11 yards.  Davis also added an interception on defense to help lead Marceline to a 14-12 win.

9/16 South Shelby at Monroe City football: Monroe City senior running back Cameron Jones had ten carries for 122 yards and two touchdowns as Monroe City defeated South Shelby 46-8.

9/16 Kirksville at Moberly football: Kirksville senior quarterback Isaac Danielson went 11-19 passing for 92 yards and a touchdown, along with ten carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns as Kirksville defeated Moberly 34-14.

9/16 Scotland County at Salisbury football: Salisbury senior receiver Daniel White had 5 catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns while also being named Salisbury’s Homecoming King in the Panthers’ 48-7 victory over Scotland County.

9/15 Sturgeon at Madison softball: Sturgeon sophomore Morgan Harris went 2-3 with 3 RBIs to help lift Sturgeon to a 14-7 win over Madison.

9/9 Moberly at Winfield football: Moberly senior quarterback Collin Huffman threw for 136 yards and two touchdowns and added 115 yards and one touchdown on the ground as Moberly defeated Winfield 39-21.

9/9 Salisbury at Paris football: Salisbury senior quarterback Ryan Binder went 18-23 passing for 272 yards and three touchdowns and added 14 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown as the Panthers defeated Paris 42-8.

9/9 Harrisburg at Marceline football: Harrisburg senior Braden Wyatt had 4 receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns and added a 90 yard interception return for a touchdown as Harrisburg beat Marceline for the first time in program history 34-8.

9/8 Canton at North Shelby softball: North Shelby sophomore Addy Uhlmeyer pitched three shutout innings in relief and got the win.  She allowed three hits and struck out four while also brining in the tying run on a sacrifice fly as North Shelby rallied from 4-0 down to defeat Canton 5-4.

9/2 Brookfield at Marceline football: Brookfield senior Amos Baum had two rushing touchdowns and added four receptions for 53 yards to help lift the Bulldogs to a 20-14 win in the Bell Game.

9/2 Osage at Moberly football: Moberly’s kick return team contributed heavily to the Spartans’ 43-37 win over Osage as Derieus Wallace returned the opening kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown and Brett Gelina returned a second kickoff in the third quarter 77 yards for a score.

9/2 Westran at South Shelby football: South Shelby junior Cameron Wiseman scored three touchdowns on the Cardinals’ first six plays to help lead them to a 43-6 win over Westran.  Wiseman finished the game with eight carries for 84 yards and touchdowns and had two catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

8/29 Salisbury at Moberly softball: Salisbury sophomore catcher Julia Sloan went 2-4 with a single and a double and threw out two Moberly runners attempting to steal second as Salisbury defeated Moberly 5-3.

8/26 Kirksville at Macon football: Macon senior quarterback Mykel Linear tossed three touchdown passes, including two in the fourth quarter to lead Macon to a 27-14 win over Kirksville.

8/26 Moberly at Smith-Cotton football: Moberly senior Derieus Wallace had six catches for 88 yards and a touchdown while also adding an interception and a fumble recovery on defense in the Spartans’ 22-21 loss to Smith-Cotton.

8/26 Centralia at Mexico football: Centralia senior running back Kyden Wilkerson had 27 carries for 151 yards and two second half touchdowns to push the Panthers to a 26-21 win over Mexico.
