Atlanta’s softball program has won two district titles the last three years, but their seasons have come to a close in the sectional round to teams who eventually made it to the state semifinals. Last year’s 20-4 Lady Hornets return two first-team All-Conference players in Abbie Farmer and Kaidyn Watson. Coach Courtney Garnett expects those two to lead Atlanta once again.

Garnett believes her Lady Hornets have an opportunity to be a complete team this year.

The Lady Hornets’ offense averaged 11.5 runs a game last year, but saw no runs scored against Canton in the sectional round. Garnett hopes gaining experience from games like those can help propel them forward.

Atlanta went undefeated in Tri-County conference play last year. You can hear more from Garnett and other area coaches on our softball warmup show Saturday at 12:30 on KRES.
