A Trio Of KRES All-Stars Are On The 2-Deep Heading Into Truman’s Opener At Davenport

A trio of KRES All-Stars are on the two-deep heading into Truman State’s opener in Michigan against Davenport on Saturday. Sophomore Isaiah Estes of Fayette tied for the team lead in tackles last spring with 24, in four games, and had a 49-yard scoop and score at Missouri S&T. Bulldog coach Gregg Nesbitt says the former Falcon will need to take on added leadership responsbilities with the graduation of Reed McBroom of Brookfield….

After earning a starting role in the spring, redshirt freshman Jon Saxbury of Monroe City will line up at left guard….

Sophomore transfer Ben Miller from Westran High School is listed as the backup at defensive end. He came to the Bulldog program from Missouri Western.

The Bulldogs will play the first of four non-conference games on the outskirts of Grand Rapids against a Davenport team that has only played a home-and-away with Gannon, since a 5-5 season in 2019. Coach Nesbitt says the Panthers fortified their their team with transfers, which makes the scouting report more difficult….

Truman went 3-1 in the spring losing the championship game to Indianapolis. The Bulldogs set a program record for wins in 2019 going 10-2 capped by a Crossroads Bowl Victory over Ohio Dominican.
