Westran Captures Share of Lewis & Clark Title, Defeats Salisbury 35-14

The Westran Hornets scored on their opening drive and did not look back in a 35-14 win over the Salisbury Panthers. With the win the Hornets earned a share of the Lewis & Clark regular season title alongside Marceline. Sam Harlan ran in a touchdown from five yards out on the opening drive of the game. Westran’s defense produced a stop on the following Salisbury drive. Marshall Kitchen added to the Hornet’s lead in the first.

Steven Findley Jr with the call on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Westran took a decisive 21-0 lead in the 2nd quarter after forcing a fumble and recovering it for the score. Westran coach Andrew Baxley praised his defensive line play.

Westran finished with 339 yards of total offense unofficially, 309 coming on the ground. Baxley spoke about his offense bouncing back from a loss last week.

Salisbury quarterback Patrick White threw for over 200 yards with two touchdowns. Eli Jackson hauled in 10 of those passes for 133 yards unofficially and a touchdown. Salisbury coach Oren Magruder.

Salisbury finishes the regular season 4-5. Magruder said his team has to refocus ahead of the playoffs.

The Hornets finish the regular season 7-2.
