It was one week ago that the NCAA Tournament-bound Truman Bulldogs found out their regional tournament was canceled as coronavirus concerns reached a new level in the sports world. Coach Jeff Horner and the team received the news while en route to Indianapolis.

Horner says he balances the disappointment with understanding why the decision was made.

Horner went through a fight with cancer last fall, but his most recent scan was clean. With recruiting halted by the pandemic, Horner is enjoying some uncommon time with family.

Jeff Horner and the Truman Bulldogs finished the season as GLVC Tournament champions, after tying Missouri-St. Louis for the regular season conference title. At 23-8, the Bulldogs tied for 18th in the final Division II Sports Information Directors of America Top 25 Poll. The ‘Dogs tied for the 27th most votes (14) in the DII Coaches Poll.

Horner joined us on KWIX Wednesday. You can hear the full interview on the Chariton Valley Magic City Sports Talk page in the sports section.
