The 46th annual Miss Moberly Scholarship Competition was held Saturday night in downtown Moberly.  Sophia Milhollin was crowned 2020 Miss Moberly.  Sophia is a Senior at Moberly High School and is the recipient of the Molly Keen Nuhn Miss Moberly 1994 “Smile Award.”  Evelyn Ortman, also a Senior attending the Moberly High School, was chosen as first runner-up and she was also awarded “The People’s Choice Award” at last night’s ceremony.  Emma Bright, a student at Missouri Valley College received second runner-up and Lauren VerBrugge won the Lisa Davies Hall, Miss Moberly 1985 “Congeniality Award” and was selected as third runner-up.

The Miss Moberly Scholarship Competition is an official Miss America preliminary.  Miss Moberly 2020, Sophia Millhollin replaces Miss Moberly 2019, Christina Brocksmith who visited with us last week here at Regional Radio.  Millhollin will represent Randolph County at the upcoming Miss Missouri competition in June in Mexico, Missouri. Some of last night’s highlights include performances by Jennifer Wilson-Browning, of Branson’s “Jennifer in the Morning” and Miss Missouri Simone Esters, who recently finished second runner-up at the Miss America competition this past December.  Regional Radio will have additional coverage of the 2020 Miss Moberly Scholarship Competition on Monday.
