Luetkemeyer on Debt Ceiling

The U.S. government hit its 31.4 trillion dollar debt ceiling on Thursday, and the Treasury expects the government to default on its obligations in June if an agreement is not reached before then. Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer says it will be a hotly contested issue.

Bipartisanpolicy.org attributes the largest increases in spending in the last year to net accumulated interest on previously accrued debt, an increase in spending on the military and the Department of Education.
