Greyhounds Open The Season Friday

The Moberly Greyhounds start the season Friday night. Coach Pat Smith starts his 13th season as the head coach of the Hounds. With the NJCAA giving players an extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic, Smith says this will be the Greyhounds’ most experienced roster ever.

Smith says the one thing he learned from last year’s condensed schedule is how important the first semester is in establishing a team culture.

Sincere Parker, Tyren Moore, Makalani Kafele, and Jordan Persad are back from last year’s 16-8 team. There are a number of talented transfers coming in, but the biggest name among them is Jimmy Bell.

The Hounds will host the William Penn JV Friday and Link Year Prep Saturday as part of the Orscheln Properties Classic. After that…

The Greyhounds were ranked 19th in the NJCAA preseason rankings.
