Eagan Feels No Pressure in Leading Drury Basketball

Amy Eagan is now the caretaker of the number one NCAA Division II women’s basketball program. The Lady Panthers held the top ranking all season and finished 32-0. With Molly Miller as head coach, Drury won 30 games each the last four seasons compiling an overall mark of 128-8. There will be a 54-game home court winning streak going into Eagan’s first game coaching the Lady Panthers at the O’Reilly Family Events Center…..

Many wondered why Eagan would leave a successful six-year run as head coach of Truman State, to become an assistant coach at Drury. Eagan was asked if this end result was the reason….

One of the reasons Miller won an NCAA-best 91-percent of her games was an oppressive defense that forced over 30 turnovers a game. Eagan wants to continue that style and add her own touch to Drury basketball….

Amy Eagan will be entering her 12th overall season as head coach. During her six years at Truman, the Shelby County native went 111-62 and led the Bulldogs to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and one conference championship. She graduated from Truman in 1999 after an All-American season and was inducted in the Truman State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012. Eagan was a two-time KRES All-Star while playing for South Shelby High School. She will be Brad’s guest on the Chariton Valley Magic City Sports Talk Show Friday morning (Fri) at 9:32 on KWIX and centralmoinfo.com.
