Truman Men Start Conference Play Hosting The Peacocks

The Truman State men’s basketball team will start conference play with the GLVC’s newcomer in Upper Iowa, at Pershing Arena on Saturday. Bulldog coach Jeff Horner says the Peacocks are led guard Jake Hilmer, who was named the Northern Sun (NSIC) South Division Player of the Year……

Hilmer is averaging 27 points per game. Horner says they will have to be better at close outs……

Upper Iowa averages 85 points per game. The Peacocks are 3-3, while Truman enters the matchup with a record of 2-4.

The Bulldog women will also play Upper Iowa in the first conference doubleheader of the season. GLVC women’s coaches voted to play two more league games than the men. Both teams have dropped their first two conference games. Truman is 3-5 and the Peacocks are 2-3. You can hear the doubleheader on KRES and centralmoinfo.com at 12:45 on Saturday. It will be a home-and-away for the programs. The following weekend Truman will visit Upper Iowa for a doubleheader.
