Tri-County Rivals Boonville and Hallsville Play For A Conference Title

A new Tri-County Conference Champion will be crowned Friday as the 7-1 Boonville Pirates host the undefeated Hallsville Indians. The conference had been owned by Class 3 powerhouse Blair Oaks for the last seven years. The Boonville Pirates ended the Falcons 44 game conference winning streak Week 4 with a 41-35 victory. Fourth year Pirate coach Greg Hough puts into perspective what it means to be playing for the conference title.

After falling in their season opener to Pleasant Hill, the Pirates have rattled off seven straight wins. Hough’s offense has scored at least 32 points in seven of the eight games.

Boonville is eyeing its first conference title since winning the NCMC in 2011.

Hallsville will regain the services of wide receiver Landon Sievers this week. Coach Justin Conyers…

Sievers had nine receptions for 217 yards and four touchdowns prior to the Week 5 injury. Hallsville is averaging 436 yards of total offense and 43.9 points per game. Conyers knows Boonville’s offense poses problems for his defense.

The Indians have never won a conference title. Pregame coverage on Superstation KRES and centralmoinfo.com begins at 6:25pm. Scott Lunte and Austin Ward have the call.
