Tractor Supply Announces Moberly Layoffs

Tractor Supply Company has informed the Missouri Department of Labor that 122 people in Moberly will be out of work within the next year. Many of the positions will be eliminated over two weeks starting May 21st, although some of the positions listed in the notice will not be eliminated until either October or the first quarter of next year. Moberly-based Orscheln Farm and Home was sold to the Brentwood, Tennessee, retailer in February 2021. Regional Radio has reached out to Tractor Supply for further details. Last year, the Federal Trade Commission approved the sale, requiring Tractor Supply to sell 73 stores, the Orscheln Farm and Home corporate headquarters, and the Moberly distribution center to Bomgaars for $10 million before the end of this year.
