Torrential Rains Flood Parts Of Big K Country Overnight

Flood warnings came from torrential rainfall that came to parts of the listening area during the early morning hours. The National Weather Service believes there are areas that have picked up 4-to-10 inches of rain. The total at our Moberly observation station is 5 inches as of 5am. (Rollins Street underpass closed by flooding). Some of the counties that picked up the most rain include Sullivan, western Putnam, Macon, eastern Linn, southern Adair, Randolph, northeast Howard and northern Boone.

There were a few severe thunderstorm warnings issued for the potential of quarter sized hail and gusty straight line wind, but heavy rain was the main story.
