The Sturgeon School District held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for its new agricultural shop and weight room. Thanks to a break in the weather, work on the project actually began prior to the ceremony. Sturgeon Superintendent Geoff Neill says the district is excited to see the finished project.

Funds for the project come from the previously passed Proposition KIDS bond that district voters passed last year. Neill says this project represents the final promise to district voters.

Construction on the new agricultural shop and weight room is expected to be completed by the start of the 2021-22 school year. In the event the project isn’t finished, students would begin classes in the current facilities, and then move into the newly constructed rooms upon completion.
