The City of Sturgeon is considering reducing the city council to one at-large ward. City Clerk Donna Tracy says the council plans to hold a public hearing on the issue at the next council meeting.

Because Sturgeon’s population is under 1,000, the council’s restructuring could happen with a passed ordinance versus being placed on a ballot. Tracy says the city is also looking for part-time maintenance help.

The city hopes to start reviewing the applications on November 4th and make a hire by mid-December.
