South Shelby Girls, Hallsville Boys Win Big

The South Shelby Ladybirds and the Hallsville Indians both used double-digit first half leads to take down their respective opponents Friday night in Hallsville. The Ladybirds defeated the Lady Indians 76-33. Junior Callie McWilliams scored 24 of her 34 points in the first half.

Hallsville senior Clara Quintana led the way for the Lady Indians with 12 points. Coach Matt Heet said the Ladybirds were a stout opponent.

South Shelby improves to 3-0 while Hallsville falls to 2-1.

The nightcap featured a balanced scoring effort for the Indians as they went on to win 60-31.

Four different Hallsville players scored eight or more points. Coach Brandon Crites said his team set the tone early.
