Salisbury Leads After Round 1 Of The State Golf Tournament
Salisbury is in first place after round 1 of the MSHSAA Boys State Golf Championships at the Columbia Country Club. The Panthers posted a score of 347, which is ten strokes clear of Gallatin. Marceline is in fifth place at 371, but just two strokes behind Lockwood and four strokes back of St. Vincent.
Nolan Gordon of Salisbury is the top area golfer in 4th place, with a 78, which is five strokes off the pace set by Asher Rust of Ash Grove. Braden Lichtenberg of Marceline fired a 79, which is tied for 5th place. Trevor Biggerstaff of Canton is one stroke behind with an 80 tied for 7th. Jaxon Green of Salisbury is alone in 10th place with an 81. Cooper Clark of Milan is tied for 11th with a first round 83. Lance O’Dell of Marceline is tied for 20th with an 87, which is three strokes from top 15 All-State. Aidan Brockleman of Westran is tied for 24th with an 89.

The Indians’ team score of 338 is 13 strokes behind another Tri-County Conference school Eldon for fourth place and a trophy. Another Tri-County Conference school, Blair Oaks, is in second place at 318, which is nine strokes behind Bishop LeBlond.
Father Tolton’s Andrew Fallis is in a three-way tie for the lead after round one with a 73. Defending champion Logan Cox of Hallsville is tied for 8th with a 78. Hagan Ritter of Macon and Garrett McIntosh of Tolton are in a six-way tie for 20th place, with 81’s, which is two strokes from top 15.
