Route 3 Slide Closure Will Extend Into 2022

The Randolph County Route 3 closure will extend into 2022. The Northeast district of the Missouri Department of Transportation made that announcement today (Tue). A slide in March created a closure of Route 3 from Route 24 to BB roughly between Mount Airy and Huntsville. Area Engineer Brian Untiedt says MoDOT has worked with the nearby quarry to gather geotechnical information about the property in and around the slide….
Untiedt says the Route 3 project has been added to the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program….
MoDOT Area Engineer Brian Untiedt says because of the unknowns at this time, it will likely be 2022 at the earliest before the road will be able to be reopened.
