Hall of Fame Coach Bob Roberts Grateful That Eldon Tietsort Gave Him a Start

A pair of Hall of Fame high school coaches got their career started thanks to Eldon Tietsort. Both Curt Riley and Bob Roberts were hired to coach at Linn County R-I by Tietsort, who died on August 31st and will be remembered during a service on Saturday. Bob Roberts says the word “respect” is what first comes to mind when thinking of Eldon Tietsort, who served 35 years in the Linn County R-I School District as teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent.

Brookfield celebration of life for 90-year-old Eldon Tietsort will be Saturday at 11am at Trinity Fellowship Center. Visitation will be Saturday from 10-11am at the Fellowship Center. Wright Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
