In a three way Republican party battle for Randolph County Sheriff, Aaron Wilson defeated Chris Wertz and Will Barger. Wilson picked up 1,744 votes, to 1,564 for Wertz and 489 for Barger. Shortly after the results became final, Wilson talked with Regional Radio about the win.

Wilson will face Democrat Michael Hopper in the general election in November. Veteran Sheriff Mark Nichols is retiring. In the race for Western District Commissioner on the Republican ticket, incumbent John Hobbs defeated Frank Miller and Artis Sumpter. Hobbs had 45 percent of the vote, Miller 37 and Sumpter 17 percent. Hobbs was humbled with the support and talked about a couple of his goals.

No democrats filed for Western District Commissioner. For Eastern District Commissioner, Republican John Tracy and Democrat Steve Barnes were both running unopposed and will meet in the general election. Sid Conklin won the Republican party race for coroner over Charlie Peel. No democrats filed for the post. Conklin shared this reaction to the victory.

There were no candidates who filed against Assessor J. Kevin Stone and Public Administrator Mary Jo Colley.
