North Shelby Welcomes St Paul Lutheran in District Title Rematch

North Shelby won its first 8-man district title in program history last year and did it by defeating St. Paul Lutheran (Concordia) 60-12. The two teams meet in Shelbyville again Friday and North Shelby coach David Stuckey understands the implications.

The undefeated Raiders are led by quarterback JD Rich, who averages 233 passing yards per game, and Brendyn McDaniel, who leads all 8-man teams in the state with 15 touchdown receptions. St. Paul running back Jayden Maggert averages 181 yards a game on the ground but Stuckey says the Saints have multiple weapons.

St. Paul has won five in-a-row after dropping the season opener to Orrick. Coach CJ Gifford says his team has steadily progressed since then.

The Saints bring a top 20 scoring offense into this contest averaging 48.3 points per game. Gifford says the Saints offense has been keeping opposing defenses on their toes all season.

You can hear St. Paul Lutheran (Concordia) at North Shelby on KTCM. Austin Ward and Steven Findley Jr will have the call.
