New Franklin’s Carly Dorson Signs With Columbia College
New Franklin senior Carly Dorson recently signed to continue her basketball career at Columbia College. Dorson averaged 14.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game to help lead the Lady Bulldogs to a district championship and a 20-9 record. Dorson explains what led her to choose Columbia College.
Columbia is coming off a 26-5 in coach James Arnold’s first season. Local players Mackenzie Hess of Cairo, Lexi Miller of Macon, Mya Miller of Mexico, and Baylie Combs of Harrisburg all feature for the Cougars. Dorson says her familiarity with many of these players influenced her decision.
Dorson details her recruitment process with Columbia College.
Dorson adds the academic side of Columbia College also played a role in her signing.
The Cougars were eliminated in the first round of the NAIA National Tournament this past season. They’ve won more than 20 games in every season dating back to the 2008-09 campaign.
