NCMC Title On The Line When Moberly Hosts Hannibal

The top two teams in the North Central Missouri Conference meet at Dr. Larry K. Noel-Spartan Stadium Friday when Moberly hosts Hannibal. The 6-0 Spartans are ranked 9th in Class 3. The 5-1 Pirates are ranked 6th in Class 4. The winner will clinch at least a tie for the NCMC title.

Dynamic Hannibal athlete Aneyas Williams is playing his final high school season before heading to Notre Dame. Moberly coach Cody McDowell says there are multiple keys for his defense, but first is identifying where he is lined up…..

Hannibal coach Jeff Gschwender says his teammates complement his game well.

The Pirates have not lost since dropping their season opener to Helias and are outscoring NCMC opponents 191-13 through three conference games. Gschwender says it comes down to disciplined play.

McDowell says it will be important for his guys to have a “next play” mentality.
