MRMC Treated a Busload of Train Derailment Passengers

Moberly Regional Medical Center received 36 injured passengers from the train derailment near Mendon last week. Quality Coordinator Debbie Crowley said they went to work immediately upon learning that a busload of victims was on the way.

MRMC Marketing Director Chad Jaecques said EMS personnel on the bus helped give their staff a head start in treating the patients.

MRMC Chief Quality Officer Emily Devenport explained how they were able to handle the trauma load.

Four of the more critically injured train passengers were transferred to University Hospital in Columbia. The last of the other 32 patients treated at MRMC was dismissed late that night. You can hear the full Doctor’s Office program by going to the KWIXLand This Morning page in the news section.
