Monroe City’s Carly Youngblood Signs with UCM Softball

Monroe City’s Carly Youngblood will continue her softball and academic career at the University of Central Missouri.

Youngblood verbally committed in June and officially signed Wednesday. She believes she made the biggest strides in her high school career after moving to the leadoff spot.

Youngblood was named a First Team All-State outfielder as a junior and senior and will be the second Youngblood sister to play collegiately. Her older sister, Lauren, is a sophomore at IUPUI. Her younger sister, Audri, is a freshman at Monroe City and was named Second Team All-State as a utility player

UCM is coming off an MIAA Championship and has won at least 30 games in each of its last three full seasons. Youngblood is expecting a stark transition in more than just athletics.

Youngblood plans to major in biology before transitioning into pre-dentistry.
