Moberly Girls Back on Winning Track, Boys Woes Continue

The Moberly girls defeated Blair Oaks and the boys fell to Van-Far to wrap up the Peak Sport and Spine Holiday Shootout at MACC Friday night.

After dropping their last two games, the Lady Spartans rolled to a 56-34 win. Moberly had an answer for each attempted Blair Oaks run.

Moberly moves to 7-3 while Blair Oaks falls to 3-6.

The boys game was tied at eight after one quarter but Van-Far controlled from there in a 45-22 victory. Indian head coach Pat Connaway said his team’s defense was solid.

The 1992 Moberly graduate and 14-year head coach opposed his alma mater for the first time.

Nikos Connaway led the way with 16 points. Moberly coach Brett Boyer said it was a Spartan team he didn’t recognize.

Moberly drops to 1-6; Van-Far is 6-4.
