Beau Garrett tossed a complete game and the Moberly Spartans defeated the Canton Tigers 5-2 Thursday night. After walking two runners in the seventh, the Spartans wrapped up Garrett’s big night with a defensive gem.

Moberly had just two hits on the night but cashed in on self-inflicted Canton mistakes. Back-to-back errors in the fourth inning resulted in two Moberly runs and allowed the Spartans to take a 4-2 edge. Canton committed five errors in total and the pitchers allowed six walks. Coach Andy Anderson assessed the loss.

Trevor Logsdon started for the Tigers and was removed two batters into the fourth inning. He was tagged for three runs, one hit, five walks and he struck out six. Garrett Lillard and Kegan Birck pitched in relief. Lillard went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Moberly moves to 4-9 with the win and Canton falls to 5-4.
