The Missouri Tigers will look to keep their winning ways going when they open SEC play tomorrow at conference kingpin Kentucky. The Tigers bring a four-game winning streak into the conference opener. Their latest victory came Monday in a 91-33 shellacking of Chicago State. Torrence Watson hit eight of Missouri’s 16 three-pointers in the victory. Meanwhile, the Tigers lockdown defense held Chicago State to just 24 percent shooting in the game.

On the other side, the 17th ranked Kentucky Wildcats are looking to build on momentum gained from last week’s 78-70 win over seventh-ranked Louisville. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Wildcats heading into SEC play. Kentucky coach John Calipari says Mizzou presents a number of challenges for them.

As is typically the case, Calipari’s Wildcats feature a crop of highly touted freshmen led by guard Tyrese Maxey. The young Wildcats compiled a 9-3 record leading up to the conference opener against the Tigers. Calipari says he’s still working to build his young team up.

Kentucky snuck by Mizzou last season in Columbia 66-58. Tipoff for this year’s matchup will be tomorrow at 1 pm at Rupp Arena in Lexington. Pregame coverage on 99.9 The Captain will begin at 12:30 pm.
