Missourians Encouraged to Ease Children into Hunting

Missouri’s fall hunting seasons are underway. Children between the ages of six and 15 can participate in the youth deer season October 28th and 29th. Shelby County Conservation Agent Kevin Lockard describes steps parents can take to introduce their kids to hunting.

Lockard recommends a slow approach when it comes to familiarizing kids to different firearms.

Lockard also recommends parents take their kids out before a season starts to observe how deer and other wildlife move.
