Missouri Railroad Safety Crossing Plan to be Unveiled Thursday

MoDOT and Governor Mike Parson will announce the new Missouri Railroad Safety Crossing Plan at a news conference on Thursday in Jefferson City. It focuses on improvements to 47 passive public crossings on Missouri’s three rail lines that carry passenger trains. The plan is in response to the June 2022 Amtrak crash near Mendon that left four people dead. There will also be a moment of silence during the conference to honor the victims of that crash.
