Missouri House Budget Committee Begins Work Following Governor’s Proposal

Following last week’s State of the State address in which Governor Mike Parson outlined his 52-billion dollar budget proposal, the House Budget Committee began meeting to work on the state’s spending bill. Representative Tim Taylor of Bunceton details the committee’s early work.

Parson’s budget proposal includes 3.7-billion dollars in state aid for public schools and 10-million to address behavioral health and health care staffing shortages. Taylor says something else caught his attention.

This is the second straight year Taylor has been a part of the House Budget Committee.
