The Missouri Department of Conservation confirmed 44 new cases of chronic wasting disease out of over 15 thousand tissue samples taken from deer during the 2020-21 surveillance year. Linn County had the second highest number of cases with six while Macon County was just behind with five. Adair County had two and Putnam County, which had no previously known cases, also had two. Ste. Genevieve County led the state with 12 new cases.
