Man and Woman Robbed Near Kirksville Care Center

Kirksville police are investigating a robbery which took place early Thursday. At 1:40am, officers were dispatched located a male and female victim in the alley along the east side of the Northeast Missouri Health Council building between McPherson and Jefferson Street.

Officers were informed by the female reporting party that she and a male friend were walking in that area when a red van pulled up, a male suspect exited the van and stated he had a gun. The male suspect then struck the male and took property from him. The male suspect also took items from the female and left the area in the red van, traveling south toward Jefferson Street. The male victim suffered a injury to his face and was treated and released from medical care.

Kirksville police say this is still an active investigation and they are attempting to locate any witnesses and gather further information.
