Macon Man Dies in Accident

One man is dead following an accident in Macon Thursday afternoon. The State Highway Patrol reports an SUV driven by 73-year-old David Russell of Macon was traveling westbound on the US-36 off ramp to US-63 when it went off the left side of the road. It overturned and ejected Russell and a passenger, 44-year-old Melanie Boone of Macon. Both were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries where Russell was later pronounced dead.
