The majority of the Macon County R-IV School Board’s May meeting dealt with the approval of the preliminary budget for fiscal year 2022. The preliminary budget was approved during the meeting last week. Macon County R-IV Superintendent John Dunham details the budget as it currently stands.

The budget also includes a $1,000 certified-salary base increase for district staff. Dunham says the federal COVID-19 relief funds will have to be factored in later.

The budget would likely be amended once the COVID-19 relief funds are received. The Macon County R-IV School District’s fiscal year 2022 budget is expected to be adopted at the school board’s next meeting on June 24th.
