The Macon County Health Department reports only 11 new cases of COVID-19 in the county in the seven-day period ending Tuesday, October 26th. There are currently 13 active cases, and no Macon County residents are hospitalized. Of the 11 new cases, 5 were vaccinated, and, there were no new cases of reinfection. Of the last 690 cases, 585 were not vaccinated. Eight of the 11 were in the city of Macon, two were in La Plata, and one was in Excello. Four people were in their 30s, two each in their 60s and 70s, and one each under 19, in their 40s, and in their 50s. The Macon County Health Department offers Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines weekly in the office.
