The MACC basketball teams swept State Fair Saturday night at Fitzsimmons-John Arena, with the women winning 107-55 and the men winning 95-86. Darryn Zeigler and Bryce Dowell each scored 19 for the Lady Hounds, with DeAnna Wilson and Chatori Tyler adding 16 each.

Coach Hana Haden talked about her team developing more offensive weapons.

Wilson also had 12 rebounds for Moberly. The Lady Hounds are now 24-4, and 7-1 in the region. With the win, the Lady Hounds are guaranteed to finish in the top two in the Region 16 regular season, and earn a first round bye in the region tournament.

Moberly is at Crowder Wednesday. State Fair falls to 6-19, and 0-7 in the region.

Markelo Sullivan led the Greyhounds with 27 points in a 95-86 win over the Roadrunners.

Eddie Creal and Cortez Mosley each had 19 points for the Greyhounds, now 22-6, and 6-1 in the region. Coach Pat Smith saw good and bad things from his team.

State Fair’s Damaria Franklin led all scorers with 40. The Roadrunners fall to 14-12, and 1-6 in the region. The Greyhounds host Link Year Prep Tuesday night.
