The Mexico School District will have a new superintendent beginning July 1st. The district has announced Dr. Tammy Lupardus will take over for the retiring Dr. Zach Templeton this summer. Lupardus has served as Superintendent of the Charleston School District in southeast Missouri since 2016. She says there were several things which made Mexico an attractive job opportunity.

Charleston was the first place Lupardus served as a superintendent. She says that the size of Mexico compared to Charleston was another factor in taking the job.

Lupardus had several stops as an administrator prior to becoming the Superintendent of Charleston. She previously worked for the Camdenton and Lebanon School Districts in southwest Missouri. She has a total of 19 years of administrative experience. Lupardus says she is working with the Mexico School District to prepare for her transition this summer.

Lupardus is a graduate of Raytown High School in Kansas City. She has an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration from UMKC and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Saint Louis University.
