Missouri Department of Transportation Northeast District Project Manager Keith Killen has been awarded the President’s Transportation Award by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. The award is given to an employee who provides exemplary service during the year that furthers the transportation activities of his or her member department. Killen received the award for his work in the completion of the Route 54 Champ Clark Bridge at Louisiana. The award was part of an over decade’s worth of work from Killen to collaborate with the Illinois Department of Transportation on an environmental assessment process and creating a citizen’s advisory group for the project. He also worked to secure a federal grant of ten-million dollars for the bridge. Killen, who resides with his family in Shelby County, has worked for MoDOT for 28 years.
