Lady Spartans Back in District Finals After Win Over Hallsville
The Moberly Lady Spartans will play for a second straight district title after beating Hallsville 59-32 in a Class 4 District 8 semifinal Wednesday. Haley Baker powered the early charge for the Lady Spartans.
Austin Ward with the calls on Glory 97 and centralmoinfo.com. Moberly led 18-7 after one and 32-12 at half. Baker provided another key bucket in a low-scoring third quarter.
Asa Fanning led all scorers with 20 and Grace Billington added 14. Coach Tony Vestal’s Lady Spartans were outscored 14-8 in that third quarter.
It was Moberly’s first game in eight days. Hallsville coach Matt Heet said he saw good things.
The Lady Indians conclude the season 6-20. Moberly is 25-2 and will get Mexico Friday after the third-seeded Lady Bulldogs defeated two-seed Fulton 51-46.
