Jacksonville Man Commits Suicide Following Rolling Domestic Dispute

A Jacksonville man is dead following a rolling domestic dispute early Saturday morning. Randolph County deputies were dispatched shortly after midnight for a domestic dispute between 39-year-old Alonso Kitchen and 33-year-old Alicia Trustee, both of Jacksonville. Sheriff Aaron Wilson explains how the incident unfolded.

Kitchen initially fled the scene of the accident while deputies, the State Highway Patrol, and local paramedics tended to Trustee and her daughter. Wilson says Kitchen returned to the scene armed a short time later.

Both Trustee and her daughter suffered moderate injuries in the accident. They were taken to Columbia for treatment. Kitchen fled to a residence in the 300 block of Southgate Street in Jacksonville. A woman reported Kitchen was at her residence and that she had taken a rifle away from him. Deputies and troopers moved to the location in an attempt to arrest Kitchen.

Aid was provided for Kitchen, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators found a note he had written.
