Harrisburg’s Combs Reflects on MBCA Hall of Fame Honor

The Missouri Basketball Coaches Association 2020 Hall of Fame Class includes former Harrisburg boys head coach Steve Combs. The current Harrisburg superintendent reacts to Wednesday’s MBCA announcement.

Combs guided his alma mater to the 2006 and 2008 state championships and six state semifinal appearances in 18 seasons.

Combs coached two years at Louisiana before he captured nine district championships at Harrisburg. The Hall of Fame inductee reveals keys to the Bulldogs’ sustained success.

Combs credits outside support too.

Combs’ son Cade Combs starred for Harrisburg’s 2017 third place team. The coach then resigned when he accepted Harrisburg’s superintendent job. Due to the coronavirus, the MBCA Hall of Fame induction will be postponed to September 13th in Springfield. Hear Steve Combs’ full Hall of Fame interview below.
